Cypress Creek Power Station

Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) has submitted a Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) air permit application on December 17, 2008 for a supercritical pulverized coal/biomass steam power electric generation facility in the Town of Dendron, Virginia.  The facility, Cypress Creek Power Station will consist of two boilers designed to use coal and waste wood as fuel, two turbines and two generators.  Each boiler will generate steam that will drive a turbine coupled to a generator with a potential electrical generating capacity of up to 750 megawatts.  Ancillary equipment to support material handling and other plant operations will also be installed at the facility.
