Project Description: The Norfolk Airport Authority has applied for a reissuance of a permit for the Norfolk International Airport. The applicant proposes to release treated wastewater and industrial stormwater into Lake Whitehurst, Mirror Lake and Denny’s Canal in Norfolk in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. A watershed is the land area drained by a river and its incoming streams. The permit will limit physical and chemical properties to amounts that protect water quality.
