Title (Project Name): RIC Runways 02 and 16 ILS Replacement
Description: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)(the applicant) submitted a federal consistency determination (FCD) to replace the Instrument Landing System (ILS) for two runways at the Richmond International Airport in Henrico County, Virginia. The glide slope towers at Runway 02 and 16 will be replaced with towers of the same height. At the Runway 02 and 16 Localizers, the existing 8-element antenna arrays on wooden platforms will be replaced with 14-element antenna array on steel platforms. The existing pre-cast concrete shelters at Runway 16 glide slope and localizer will be replaced by fiberglass shelters. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program.
