Title (Project Name): The Village at Bon Air
Description: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (the applicant) proposes to provide Multifamily Accelerated Program Section 221(d)(4) funding to Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, LLC for the construction of The Village at Bon Air in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The 8.69-acre subject property is currently developed as the Stein Mart Festival Shopping Center, which consists of six single-story commercial buildings. The applicant proposes to demolish the existing northernmost buildings and construct two four-story buildings containing 197 residential units. Additional proposed improvements include a clubhouse/lounge and fitness center, as well as a swimming pool, public park, landscaped green space and pedestrian walkways. Parking lots, driveways and a stormwater detention basin will be constructed. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program.
