Title (Project Name): Goodwill-9 and Goodwill-4
Description: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) proposes to provide financial assistance through the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs to Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC or applicant), to support the construction of the proposed Goodwill-9 and Goodwill-4 development located at 10 South Glebe Road in Arlington County. The subject property is a 1.371-acre site comprised of one parcel (Real Property Code 23-001-034) that is owned by Davis Memorial Goodwill Industries, Inc. The site is located in a mixed-use area of Arlington, consisting of commercial, residential, and governmental facilities. The subject site is currently developed with a three-story commercial retail building. The proposed plans include the demolition of the three-story commercial retail building and the new construction of a seven-story mixed-use building with two levels of subgrade parking. The first two floors of the proposed building will be utilized as Goodwill retail space and the remaining five floors will be utilized as affordable family housing. HUD has submitted a Federal Consistency Determination that finds the proposed action consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the enforceable policies of the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program. The proposed project is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the program.
