Plan Reviewer for ESC Curriculum

This three-day course (11/16 - 11/18) is for individuals reviewing erosion and sediment control (ESC) plans submitted for approval to a Virginia erosion and sediment control program (VESCP) authority or entity with standards and specifications.

  • Fundamentals of erosion and stormwater runoff
  • ESC plan elements and the plan review process
  • Erosion and sediment control measures
  • Basics of plan review for stormwater quantity compliance

Persons enrolled in this course should possess an understanding of the principles of: hydrology, erosion and sediment control; the Virginia erosion and sediment control law and regulations; and the specifications in the ESC Handbook.

Materials: 

  • The Participant Guide is an integral part of the class. You may purchase a color hard copy participant guide from Bamboo Ink. Alternatively, you can download and print your own copy from ELMS.

  • Chapters 3 (all sections), 5, and 6 of the Erosion & Sediment Control Handbook (big green book) are also needed for this class. You can download and print them here or purchase a copy of the ESC Handbook from Bamboo Ink.
