Do I need to hire an environmental consultant?

An environmental consultant can help you understand local, state, and federal air requirements. Consultants and contractors specialize in different areas such as permitting, design and engineering, construction, sampling and testing, waste management, due diligence, abatement, and cleanup. Consultants may also help you estimate emissions, complete air permit applications, or develop permitting strategies. Few businesses question the need for improved air quality, but many question how they are affected by air regulations and what they must do to comply. It is the consultant's job to answer your questions and provide cost‐efficient solutions.

How do I find an environmental consultant?

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality’s Office of Small Business Assistance compiled a list of consultants and their services based on a survey conducted in the spring of 2016. Since that time additions and corrections have been made at the request of the consultants.
